Happy Friday, Suncoast! Meteorologist Eric Kasunich here with the Max Defender weekend forecast
Today is looking a lot like what we have been experiencing the past few days, but the good news is, today is a bit of a transition day to some warmer and drier weather. The high for today is 56°F, which is still pretty chilly for us, however it beats the 49°F we witnessed yesterday. The clouds you see this morning will be overcast and thick, however they will thin and dissipate as the day advances. Around early afternoon, the clouds should be completely clear, and the bright sunshine will shine through, keeping our area rain free.
In fact, our area looks very dry for the next week. A high pressure will settle into our northeast and bring in southerly winds, clear skies and dry conditions. Saturday will be cold though. The morning lows will be around 38°F with afternoon highs in the high 60s. ITs not until Monday when we can possibly see the temperatures reach the low 70s. The warming trend will continue well into next week with temperatures reaching the high 70s but the end of the week.
Have a great weekend, Suncoast and enjoy the change in the weather.

Good morning, everyone! Meteorologist Eric Kasunich here with the Max Defender weather update.
Are you tired of the cold yet? I know I am. It has been persistently cold for the past few days, and we will have to bear it for a few more days before we see higher temperatures. Current wind chills are in the 30s across the region, and the high is only going to reach 52°F today. With the cold rain in the air and breezy conditions, it will be cold and not very pleasant.
This weekend, we can expect a change. It will be very cold waking up on Saturday morning, but temperatures will increase gradually throughout the day as the warming trend begins. Next week, temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid to high 70s. A high-pressure system will dominate the area, keeping rain chances nonexistent for next week. As this high pressure moves east into the Atlantic Ocean, a southerly wind will prevail, leading to the warm-up. This, combined with a more zonal (less undulating) upper-level flow, is why we will see the warm-up. Until then, keep the coast handy
