SARASOTA – September fourth marks exactly 5 years since 14 year old Jabez Spann went missing.
Spann went missing on Labor day in 2017 and his remains were found in rural Manatee County in 2019.
Sadly, it is still unknown who killed Jabez and why.
“Whoever did this, I’m hoping it comes to the light soon because it’s been ongoing for five years. And five years is a lot of pain when a child, fourteen comes up missing,” said Spann’s uncle, Dana Tillery.
Spann’s family members continue to seek justice, as there are still no new updates on what happened to the fourteen year old.
The Sarasota Police Department is offering a fifty thousand dollar reward for information that leads to the arrest.
Spann’s uncle and the rest of Spann’s family continues to grieve his loss.
“It’s my nephew, I love him to death. I would do anything in the world to have him back,” said Tillery.
Family members are hosting a balloon release in remembrance of Jabez.
