MANATEE COUNTY- Students at Visible Men Academy got an early Valentine’s Day date with their first love.

The VMA boys got an opportunity to dress up and share a special evening with their moms at a Mother-Sons Valentines Day dance Friday afternoon.

Co-Founder & CEO of Visible Men Academy says the traits the boys learn by doing these acts of kindness go hand-in-hand with the mission of the Academy.

“We want our sons to have strong character traits as well because we are expecting them to be leaders and be able to come back into the community after they’ve been successful themselves and help them lead the areas they come from as well as be good husbands, good fathers, and good leaders in the community,” said Co-founder & CEO Visible Men Academy.

Visible Men Academy is a tuition-free public charter school educating male students in Sarasota and Manatee from kindergarten to 5th grade.

The student’s families are from low-income communities, including 6% who are homeless.
