SARASOTA – Sarasota Police Department investigators say the 4-door Sedan’s driver lost control, striking the side of the bridge and a tree. Paoletta was thrown from the vehicle, which caught fire.
Sarasota county firefighters extinguished the blaze and found the brothers inside. The Herald Tribune reports the Flores family also lost the brother’s father, Oscar Flores Senior in March.
A spokeswoman told the newspaper all three crash victims had been enrolled in the Sarasota County School district at one point.
And the family and friends of the three teens gathered near the crash site to hold a vigil in their honor. Hundreds of family and classmates of the teens met along the westbound side of the Ringling Bridge.
People brought flowers and balloons to add to the growing memorial dedicated to the teens. Classmates released balloons and lanterns into the air in memory of the teens whose family says will be missed and won’t be forgotten.
