SARASOTA- New autopsy information reveals how the suspect died in the officer-involved shooting, Saturday night.

The Sarasota Police Department says the autopsy concludes that 52-year-old Scott Tiati, the man who shot and killed the woman and her dog, died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The District 12 Medical Examiner completed the autopsy.

According to SPD, Tiati shot and killed a woman and her dog, killing them both in front of the responding Sarasota Police Officer. Tiati died at the scene, it is still unclear if he was killed by the officer or a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victim’s name is being withheld under Marsy’s Law.
