SARASOTA- The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee hosted its annual fundraiser for college scholarships.
This is Brunch on the Bay’s 25th anniversary. It has raised over one million dollars producing more than 1,700 scholarships. It has created a scholarship endowment totaling 1.3 million dollars.
“Getting a college degree for so many unlocks a world of opportunity for them,” said the events co-chair, Lauren Henry. “Plus these students then come back into our community and become our business leaders, owners, entrepreneurs, our employees, and so it’s really important to invest in the next generation.”
Almost 1,000 donors, community leaders, volunteers, faculty, staff and students attended the event.
