TAMPA (SNN-TV) – Tom Brady tied the record for most Monday Night Football wins after beating the Saints in the final seconds of last night’s game.
With the Bucs’ last-minute 17-16 win over the New Orleans Saints, Brady tied the record for most wins on Monday Night Football by a starting quarterback. Former Legendary Dolphins QB Dan Marino shares the record alongside Brady.
Going into Monday night’s match-up, Brady walked onto the field with a 19-8 record for Monday Night Football, but that all changed when Brady stepped up and threw two touchdowns within the last three minutes of the game. Although the game against the Saints wasn’t the Bucs best, Tampa Bay improved their record to 6-6, leaving them atop the NFC South.
Brady is now 2-4 against the Saints since he became a Buccaneer back in 2020. Head coach Todd Bowles spoke to playing in so many close, low scoring games after the win.
“In the NFL, you’re not going to blow a lot of people out. We won a lot of close games when we won the Super Bowl as well. Every year, it’s going to come down to a score or two – you’ve just got to have details and win the ballgame. [If] you win enough of them consistently, they’ll start turning into larger [margins] when the confidence grows. But it’s going to be a dogfight every week from here on out.”
Up next for the Bucs in Week 14, they’ll hit the road to San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Sunday.
