MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – Manatee County Deputies and Palmetto Police officers are investigating three armed robberies that happened this week.
A police report says it’s the same suspect robbing multiple cell phone stores.
On August 26, a suspect entered a Cricket store at 593 10th St E in Palmetto with a handgun demanding phones and money. He is described as a black man wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt with camo pants and a black cap.
This past Wednesday, a suspect went to Cricket store in 1st Street East in Bradenton and held three employees at gunpoint and stole two new I-phones and demanded for money.
Friday morning the PPD was called to the scene of an armed robbery at the Metro PCS store 651 10th St E in Palmetto. Again, with a similar descriptions and situations.
PPO Sergeant Michael Kelly says this is unusual and they’re still investigating the motive.
“We’re not sure about this when he gets these cellphones, they’re not hooked up and they don’t have their sim cards, so they’re almost rendered useless unless they’re hacked into,” Srgt Kelly said.
No one has been harmed in any of these incidents.
Anyone with information on these cases is asked the contact the MCSO at (941) 747-3011, the PPD at (941) 721-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
