SARASOTA – The Patterson Foundation, a non-profit that strengthens the efforts of people, organizations, and communities, matched a $250,000 donation to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s Global Recovery Fund.

The contribution comes after wildfires spread throughout Australia and the World Health Organization declared the 2019 Coronavirus in China a global health emergency.

“No matter where we’re part of a bigger society, part of the globe, and the Patterson Foundation believes each one of us has an opportunity to make a difference for those who are less fortunate,” said Debra M. Jacobs, President & CEO of The Patterson Foundation.

Jacobs says the foundation has agreed to match three more $250,000 donations hoping to donate a total of $1 million.
