SARASOTA – An SPD detective resigns during an internal affairs investigation after he reportedly threatened to shoot his wife, another officer, and that officer’s children. This is over an alleged affair.
SPD says Scott Patrick resigned August 30th. The investigation found Patrick violated two rules and policies related to conduct unbecoming of a member.
In March 2022, Scott’s wife, officer Bobbi Sue Patrick, told SPD investigators that Scott became angry during an argument after believing she was having an affair. He loaded a gun and allegedly said he could kill Bobbi Sue right there.
The incident fell outside SPD’s jurisdiction, so they requested the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office get involved.
Scott Patrick was also fired back in August 2012 after a use of force incident was caught on a surveillance camera. He was seen hitting a club-goer five to six times in the face while he was on the floor.
