SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) – The Sarasota Contemporary Dance is performing it’s first live show of its 15th season.

SCD is hosting its Evolving/Revolving performance at the Historic Asolo Theater.

The production features themes of migration from Cardinal and Fidalgo, as well as an exposé into the iconic identity of Marilyn Monroe by choreographer Erin Fletcher.

But they’re changing with the times to provide a digital theater opportunity with multi-cameras for multiple shows.

Only 50 Patrons will be allowed to sit in-house distanced, and other audience members can watch from SCD’s Digital Theater online.

“So that is different for us, and it’s really something we did intentionally, thinking of our patrons, our more wise and seasoned patrons that have been following us for 15 years, that maybe are not ready to leave their homes to provide something that is new and exciting,” Artistic Director, Leymis Bolaños Wilmott said.

Again, the performances will be held at the Historic Asolo Theater from Thursday, October 1 – Sunday, October 4. Performance times are 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday and on Sunday at 2:00pm. In-performance and virtual tickets can be purchased online at www.sarasotacontemporarydance.org or by calling 941.260.8485. Box office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
