SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – After several weeks of searching, the Sarasota Boxing Club finally found its new home on 2030 Harvard Street behind the Subway.
The new space nearly doubles the previous location in size, allowing for more area for boxers to workout.
With the extra space the boxing ring is now in the center of the room, allowing for what Coach Harold Wilen calls “an open environment” for his boxers.
Facing the ups and downs of searching for property, Wilen was worried his club wouldn’t find refuge in the local area, until opportunity came knocking. “Nobody offered anything in the area, close to where we were, we wanted to stay in that area, that looked like it would work. Until that one magical Friday, I think it was October 14th, when we came over to this series of units and this place came available soon after that.”
