SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (SNN TV) – HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital and Suncoast Blood Centers are teaming up for a blood drive to help the victims of the Hawaii wildfires.
For every donation made, Blood Centers of America will make a $20 donation to the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund.
According to the Foundation, 100% of the donations will be distributed for community needs in Maui.
Caregivers from HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital will be donating blood and plasma, but the blood drive is open to members of the community as well.
The drive will be this Monday, Aug. 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital located at 5731 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL, 34233.
There is a great need for monetary donations to help residents who have lost their homes and possessions in the wildfires.
