SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – With a new head coach taking over in Lubbock for the Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team, one of the Suncoast’s premier talents has de-committed from the Big-12 power.
The Red Raiders will miss out on Riverview High School, three-star shooting guard Jason Jackson after he de-committed from the school yesterday due to “coaching staff issues.”
Jackson committed to Texas Tech back in November of last year to play under former head coach Mark Adams, but after news broke of Adams’ interactions with players and some poor vocabulary choices the school found themselves with a coaching vacancy. The team hired Grant McCasland to replace Adams at the start of the offseason.
Jackson elected to reopen his commitment after being let out of his letter of intent, and tells SNN that he hits the market with no concrete commitment coming anytime soon. The Rams star checks in as the 136th-ranked player in the nation and the 12th-ranked player in the Sunshine state.
Jackson also announced that he’s signed with Texas-based “Level 13 Agency” to represent him concerning potential name, image and likeness deals.
