VENICE (SNN-TV) – With the high school football season winding down, only one game with two Suncoast teams takes place this Friday, just games away from a State title berth.

Friday at Powell-Davis Stadium, the Venice Indians and Riverview Rams clash in the Class 4S – 4th Region final.

With extended history, the two teams met earlier this year in October, when the Rams fell to Venice, 31-21 at Cleland Stadium. Both teams have had up and down years, Venice has rattled of 6 wins in their last 7 games, after starting the year 1-2. In the playoffs the Indians handily defeated both Riverdale and Lehigh.

Riverview started the year 0-3, and finished the year winning 5 of their last 8 games, finding their way into the playoffs defeating Gulf Coast and Sarasota in consecutive weeks.

With a spot in the final four up for grabs, kickoff from Venice is set for 7:30pm on Friday.
