PORT CHARLOTTE (SNN-TV) – The Tampa Bay Rays and Rowdies shared the magic of Rays baseball and Rowdies soccer with a week of holiday donations and events, and today made a stop in Charlotte County.

Rays and Rowdies staff and Season Ticket Holders, along with team mascots Raymond and Pete, donated toys at the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County to more than 100 kids who were impacted by Hurricane Ian. Donations were organized at Tropicana Field this morning and delivered to the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County this afternoon.

Today’s donation caps off a week of giving for the Rays and Rowdies. Rays Director of Community Engagement, Kim Couts says helping Charlotte County was an easy decision for their organization.

“This was something our staff really wanted to do, to be able to help our friends down here. This week’s really special. We’ve had staff members from all departments, all across the organization, partnering and working with us on these events. It’s been a great week to be apart of this organization, and we’re really proud of it.”

The donation further inspires the mission of the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County, which is to help young people become productive and caring individuals.
