ST. PETERSBURG (SNN-TV) – After the MLB’s opening weekend, the Rays stand as the league’s lone undefeated team heading into their 4-game series with the Oakland A’s.

The Rays began their 2022 with a sweep of the Baltimore Orioles in their three-game series, following an 8-0 victory yesterday.

Brandon Lowe led the charge Sunday, going 2 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs while Wander Franco had three hits with a double and two RBIs.

Oakland enters in third place in the AL West with a 1-2 record. They’re coming off a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday, earning Mark Kotsay his first managerial win.

In their Sunday victory Tony Kemp went 3 for 5 with two RBIs while Billy McKinney added a solo home run.

Tonight’s 6:40pm match-up pits Oakland’s Paul Blackburn against Tampa’s Luis Patiño on the mound.
