Private pickleball club set to open in May in east Sarasota

SARASOTA (SNN TV) – A private pickleball club is set to open in May on the Suncoast.

“The Pickleball Club” is a 2.5-acre complex in east Sarasota and will have Florida’s first indoor pickleball courts, the Herald-Tribune reports.

CEO Brian McCarthy says it already has 500 members and despite not being open yet.

The Pickleball Club will have 12 courts with a tournament-level outdoor service, a rotating “Food Truck Alley,” Pickles Cafe, Dink’s Pro Shop, and video tech for live streaming and recording capabilities for training.

Sports and Fitness Industry Association named pickleball the fastest growing sport in the country the last three years with more than 4.8 million players.

The ribbon cutting is May 2. The club is located at 1195 Sarasota Center Boulevard. The cost to join will be a one-time fee of $1,000, and $1,200 annually.
