VENICE – In an effort to ensure blood is available for those who need it, One Blood hosted a blood drive Wednesday outside of Venice City Hall.
All donors were required to wear a face mask, and have their temperature taken before donating blood.
All successful donors received a free COVID-19 antibody test and a wellness checkup which included a blood pressure check, iron count, and a cholesterol screening.
“It’s needed all the time and now so, more than ever. Everybody is worried at this point and we should do something proactive to try and help out at this situation,” said Blood Donor, Brian Boyle.
“I haven’t given blood in 44 years, but during this time I thought a small thing for me to do could make a big impact on somebody else,” said Blood Donor, Chris Wilson.
