VENICE (SNN-TV) – Sunday, many at Venice Fishing Pier were treated to a spectacle of epic proportions between man and fish — well, young man.
16-year old Phillip Sokolov of North Port fought a massive, 4.5ft (54 inch) long, 44lb Kingfish (King mackerel) for around an hour, when finally with the help of some “Good Samaritans”, he was able to nab the behemoth.
The end of the pier was crowded with people, eyeing his performance and it was a sight to behold.
Sokolov is enrolled in online schooling and has quite the collection of magnificient catches and trophy fish, which can all be seen on his Instagram, @_.bigfish._.
