NORTH PORT-SARASOTA (SNN TV) – The Suncoast once again ranks in the Top 10 for where homeowners are moving, but a new city ranked number one.

The North Port-Sarasota area ranked sixth among the top 10 metros in the U.S. by real estate website Redfin. The site used “net inflow” as a metric, meaning the number of people who used the site to look for information on moving to the area, and then subtracted the number of people looking to leave the area.

The net inflow was a bit lower than last year, 4,700 this year versus 5,900 in 2022.

New Yorkers were the most frequent people looking to move to the area. Other Florida metros in the Top 10 include Tampa, Orlando, Cape Coral, and Miami, but Miami saw a huge drop from more than 10,000 last year to 3,700 this year.

Las Vegas topped Redfin’s list for the first time. Houses there are much cheaper than Los Angeles, the most common place people look to move from to get to Vegas.
