SARASOTA – Sarasota Police Department are searching for the drivers involved in a hit and run crash.
The crash happened on Washington Boulevard between 21st & 18th Street just after eight Friday night. SPD Spokeswoman Genevieve Judge says two vehicles were involved in what they believe is a rear end collision. That caused one of the vehicles to crash into a motorcyclist, ejecting them from their bike.
Judge says they believe a truck and a sedan were involved in the crash.
“If you’re involved in a hit & run crashes rather, and you leave the scene you could be facing additional charges,” said Judge. “So if you’re involved in a hit & run crash stay on scene, call 911, let our officers respond so they can do the appropriate thing and get everyone’s information.”
Judge says the motorcyclist is expected to survive. SPD is still searching for the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash. You’re asked to call SPD if you have any information pertaining to the crash.
