SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) – More delays at the Sarasota Kennel Club COVID-19 testing site today.
Some drivers were complaining about being stuck in line for more than two hours.
As the COVID-19 cases across the nation increase, so does the testing. The third-party organization running the site, Nomi Health, said they are doing their best to handle the increased demand. Lightning and storms in the area also caused delays.
“I’ve moved all of about three car lanes and about two-and-half hours,” Peter Delnkey said. “It is what it is. I have to get this done.”
He said he was going to stick it out as long as he had to though.
Nomi Health has had a 75-percent uptick in testing this week. They conduct both the Antigen test, which yields a diagnosis in about 20 minutes, and the PCR tests with results coming in at about 36 hours.
