NEW YORK, NY (SNN-TV) – 75 years ago today, Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. To celebrate and honor that moment, today is Jackie Robinson Day across the big leagues. His number 42 will be worn by every player and every team today.
For a limited time, Robinson’s Brooklyn Dodgers jersey he wore during the 1951 season will be on display at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.
