VENICE – Mayors Feed the Hungry collected food at Cool Today park on Saturday in Venice, collecting food for our furry friends too.

They were collecting food for pets and people in need.

Six local food pantries from south Sarasota County were at the food drive, and mayors of Venice and North Port were also in attendance lending their support.

The organization collected a total of 3,000 pounds of food.

All the food was divided and given to the local food pantries to help feed the hungry in the area.

The Mayors’ Feed the Hungry program is a non-profit organization, supported and endorsed by all nine mayors in both County commissions in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
