MANATEE COUNTY – The Manatee County School district desperately needs bus drivers.
School officials say the shortage has caused delays in the drop off times for students and their current driver have had to pick up extra routes.
In response, the school district is looking to hire 20 to 25 bus drivers and attendants.
“They can call us, they can go on the district website and fill out the application and apply, and then we will work with them to get them through class, it is paid training so they’re paid through the first day of class and then once they graduate from class they move on to driving a route,” said Transportation Director for Manatee County Schools, Gary Sawyer.
