MANATEE COUNTY- A man was shot and killed just outside of his home in Manatee County Thursday night.
Manatee County deputies say they don’t know why 35-year-old William Ramsey was killed, and they don’t know who is responsible.
Deputies say Ramsey’s mother and roommate were inside the home when they heard a loud pop, moments later he walked through the front door with a single gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
Neighbors were shocked to hear about the homicide saying Ramsey was a quiet man, and a good neighbor.
Deputies say they need your help solving this investigation.
“We are relying on tips that incredibly important here because we just don’t know what happened there in that front before he came into the house. We don’t know who he was dealing with prior to that, who he may have had an incident earlier in the day or just moments before. Who was out there we don’t know who that was,” said Manatee County Sheriff’s Spokesman, Randy Warren.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Gold Star Club of Manatee County is offering a $5000 reward, Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s office or leave an anonymous tip with crimestoppers.
