CHARLOTTE COUNTY- A man is charged with murder, after a woman was found dead with multiple gun shot wounds in Charlotte County.
A domestic incident left one woman dead in the 4000 block of Taylor Road in Charlotte County Sunday night.
“Upon responding, deputies found a white female inside of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds,” said Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Bill Prummell.
Deputies were immediately able to identify David Kolenda as the shooter. Kolenda fled the scene before the deputies arrival.
“A short time later he was located in the area of Jones loop and after a short negotiation, he surrendered to deputies,” said Sheriff Prummell.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, but later died from her injuries.
“David Kolenda is currently being held without bond on second degree murder and aggravated battery charges,” said Prummell.

Authorities have not yet identified the woman killed.
