MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (SNN TV) – Deputies arrest a man for allegedly shooting and killing someone in Plant City.

Someone called the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Saturday afternoon and said shots were fired at a birthday party.

Witnesses said at least 10 people were at the party when the shooter fired his weapon.

One man in his 40s was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, and another man is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

48-year-old Faustino Antunez was arrested by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Sunday morning after he was involved in a suspected DUI crash.

He also provided a false name to their deputies.

Antunez is in the Manatee County Jail. He’s been charged in Hillsborough County for Murder in the Second Degree and Attempted Murder in the First Degree Premeditated, among others.

“The quick work of our detectives will ensure this man has to answer for his violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The collaboration between teamHCSO and MCSO exemplifies the power of shared purpose, combined expertise, and a common goal: to make our community safe.”
