BRADENTON (SNN-TV) – Bradenton Marauders 1B/3B Jacob Gonzalez has been named the Florida State League Player of the Week.
The son of former big-leaguer Luis Gonzalez is batting .560 with 2 HR’s and 8 RBI’s to begin the season.
The Pirates acquired Gonzalez in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft and was assigned to Bradenton to start the year.
The Marauders open a series in Daytona tonight with the Tortugas at 7:05pm.
