MANATEE COUNTY – The Florida Primary is now only two weeks away and there are now three confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Florida, including here on the Suncoast.
But, Manatee Supervisor of Elections, Michael Bennett, believes this shouldn’t get in the way of exercising your right to vote.
“One of the things that we are suggesting is if they would call my office between today and Friday afternoon, we would have enough time to get a vote-by-mail ballot out to them,” says Bennett. “It is not something they would have to permanently do but they would always get it. So I think that vote by mail is the way to go on this if they’re concerned at all.”
Bennett also says the precincts will have hand sanitizers and other disinfecting materials there for anyone who chooses to vote in person.
Presidential Preference Primary is March 17th, while Early Voting begins March 7th through the 14th.
