SARASOTA – It’s Gogh Time! Van Gogh’s Immersive Experience has made its way to the Suncoast!

“It’s really all about connecting a 21st century audience to a 19th century artist,” said Art Historian and Consultant for the Creative Team, Fanny Curtat.

Through the use of cutting-edge projection technology, beyond Van Gogh breathes new life into over 300 of Van Gogh’s paintings.

“The experience is over three rooms, as the audience walks in they get to the introduction hall, which is all about learning a little bit more about Vincent Van Gogh in his own words,” said Curtat.

The introduction hall is followed by the waterfall room.

“Which is sort of to prepare you a primer for the mind because it’s not a conventional experience, it’s not like going into a museum like experience,” said Curtat.

This leads you to the immersive experience…

“Where everything moves around you, the paintings come alive, the children can follow brush strokes and everyone can walk in and experience it at their own rhythm,” said Curtat.

We saw a similar experience in St. Petersburg a couple of years ago, how is this one different here in Sarasota?

“Every immersive experience is going to be different, it’s actually not un-common in the art world to have one than exhibit on one artist, especially someone as famous as Van Gogh, but it’s all about the territorial vision, it’s all about what each creative team brings to the table,” said Curtat.

The immersive experience hopes to take all beyond the frame and inside the paintings..

“That you know and love, so there’s truly a little bit for everybody here and it’s really about taking this journey through the light, the joy that he wanted to share with the world,” said Curtat.

Beyond Van Gogh Sarasota opens to the public March 4th. For more information on times and tickets, you can visit their website here.
