SARASOTA – Hundreds gathered at the Ringling Bridge Sunday in opposition to the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.
“While they are fighting for a bill, we are fighting for our lives,” said Pine View High School Senior, Zander Moricz.
House Bill 1557, known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill would restrict classroom discussion about sexual orientation and gender identity.
The piece of legislation, titled the “Parental Rights in Education” bill bans classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in grades K-3 or when it’s not age – or developmentally appropriate.
