SARASOTA – Thanksgiving Day is one of the busiest travel days in the nation and the Florida Highway Patrol wants to ensure you reach your destination just fine.

FHP is gearing up for extra patrol across all counties in Florida and will keeping a close eye for impaired drivers on the road. State Trooper Kenn Watson says this is one of the busiest times for state troopers conducting routine traffic stops to ensure no one is driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

“By making choices now and making plans now you can avoid a tragedy tomorrow. Bottom line be smart, plan ahead and then have a great holiday,” said Trooper Watson.

Trooper Watson also urges driver to use precaution be patient and look out for pedestrians if you plan on going out for Black Friday.
