VENICE (SNN-TV) – Penn State University broke out the spatula and flipped Venice High’s Elliot Washington to their side, and away from Alabama.

The 4-star DB announced earlier today on his Twitter, that he was decommitting from the SEC powerhouse and committing to the Nittany Lions.

Washington took an official visit to Penn State on June 10th. He had been committed to Alabama since January 31st, but remained open to other schools. Michigan State also received an official visit from Washington.

Washington was detrimental to Venice’s 14-1 record and 8A state championship win as a junior with 58 tackles, four interceptions, four pass breakups and two tackles for loss.

Washington is the 12th ranked safety in the class of 2023 and 29th best prospect in Florida, according to 247Sports.
