SARASOTA – After years of discernment and formation – seven men at the Catholic Diocese of Venice in Florida became permanent ordained deacons.
The ceremony took place Saturday morning at the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Bishop of the Diocese of Venice – Most Rev. Frank Dewane, says part of the ceremony is for each of the seven men to freely present themselves to serve God, the Church, Bishop Dewane and his successors.
The Ordination Mass, which was postponed from early June due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and those in attendance were asked to wear masks and social distancing whenever possible.
