BOSTON (SNN-TV) – Between cancer treatments and vocal cord surgery, things have been rough for basketball icon and Suncoast resident, Dick Vitale. But the news he got from Dr. Steven Zeitels today left him teary-eyed and speechless.

“[I’m] real pleased, Dick. His exam today looks tremendous. He’s healed the areas on his vocal cord that had the dysplasia, that had been traumatized because of the enthusiasm. At this point, you’re about 80% healed. But what is key is, the area where you make sound, the phonatory area of the vocal folds, looks tremendous. So, I can restore you to speaking.” – Dr. Steven Zeitels
So, now it looks like Vitale is on the right path to returning to sidelines for the 2022–23 season.
