BRADENTON (SNN TV) – For the second year in a row, weather ruins the De Soto Grand Parade.
The tradition started in 1939 by the Hernando de Soto Historical Society. The group announced Saturday evening that after consulting with emergency personnel, they made the hard decision to cancel the 2023 De Soto Heritage Festival due to safety reasons.
The parade was supposed to start at 7 p.m. but was originally delayed 45 minutes before ultimately being cancelled.
