SARASOTA – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an earlier crash that sent one person to the hospital.
The crash happened on Tamiami Trail and Palm Ave in Nokomis just after five Wednesday afternoon.
Northbound lanes of US 41 were closed temporarily while crew investigated the scene. According to FHP two vehicles were involved in the crash with one ending overturned on the far right turning lane.
One person was airlifted and transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert. No word yet on what caused the crash.
