FLORIDA – Florida sees an uptick in COVID-19 cases since Monday.
The Florida Department of Health reports more than 2,700 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, an increase from Monday’s reported 1,500 cases.
The state is also reporting 119 new deaths and 210 new hospitalizations.
All in, more than 738,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, since the first was reported right here on the Suncoast, March 1st.
According to the Department of Health, Florida has recorded more than 46,000 COVID-related hospitalizations and more than 15,000 deaths since the pandemic began.
Here on Suncoast, Health Officials report,
Manatee County, more than 12,200 cases.
Sarasota County, more than 8,700 cases of COVID-19.
And in Charlotte County, more than 3,200 confirmed cases.
The daily positivity rate is near 5 percent, whereas the overall positivity percentage is a little over 6 percent.
