A car malfunction on I-75 led to a severe vehicle fire last night. The fire was reaching 10 feet into the air near the Apollo beach exit.

The driver of the car tells SNN his wife suffered minor burns on her arm when she opened the car door but was able to get treated. A fuel line malfunction caused the car to burst into flames. The driver was able to pull over, and get out without injury.

Three good Samaritans came to the rescue with their own fire extinguishers before Hillsborough county firefighters were on the scene. Firefighters were able to put the car fire out within 15 minutes.

The couple has started a GoFundMe to help with medical cost. If you are interested in donating you can find the link here.
