SARASOTA- A car crashes into a building Thursday morning.
Police say it happened just before 9 a.m. in the 1400 block of Main street. According to the Sarasota Police Department the driver had a medical condition and drove into Thayer Jewelers. No injuries were reported. The owner, Jeremy Thayer, says he’s thankful no one was in his store at the time of the crash but worries about being able to lock up shop now.
“Luckily we had this electronic gate, that we put down every night. I don’t know that we’ll be able to even put it down tonight.,” said Thayer.
Police say there does not appear to be any major structural damage.
