BRADENTON (SNN TV) – A 29-year-old Bradenton man is sentenced to five years in prison for his role in the January 6th U.S. Capitol insurrection.

The Herald-Tribune reports Daniel Lyons Scott, who goes by the nickname “Mlikshake,” declared that if a U.S. Senator didn’t vote against the certification of Biden’s victory, they should “give him the rope!” Before former President Donald Trump began speaking, Court papers say Scott yelled to some Proud Boys members, “Let’s take the [expletive] Capitol!”

He pushed two officers up stairs of the Capitol’s West Terrace, and his group of rioters became the first group to enter the Capitol.

Scott’s defense attorney says Scott pushing at the police line was due to frustration from the police’s “aggressive crowd control effort.”

The 29-year-old pled guilty in February before being sentenced this month.
