SARASOTA – “You’ve got to make it fun, you’ve got to make it exciting,” said Barbara Ruginski. “Everybody wants to bowl, everybody wants to win prizes.”
Ruginski has dedicated fifteen year to helping charities by organizing fundraisers. She’s worked for Susan G Komen, with the homeless, and now St. Jude’s. Just some of the charities she’s passionate about.
“It gives me a good feeling that what I am doing is for a worthwhile cause,” said Ruginski
On Sunday Ruginski is hosting a bowling night at AMF Bowling Co. in Sarasota where 100% of the proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
“A lot of these children need help, their families need help,” said Ruginski. “I think it’s great charity and my heart goes out to those families.”
Guest attending will be able to bowl, enter a raffle for prizes donated by local business, but most importantly raise money all for a good cause.
“It just continues to grow, they bring their neighbors, the next day they’re talking about it, three-four months later they’re asking let’s do it again, let’s do it again!” she said.
The event starts at 7 p.m. on Sunday Aug 4th at the AMF Bowling on South Tamiami Trail. Tickets for the event are $20 dollars. You can still buy them at the door but are encouraged to get there by 6 P.M.
