DAYTONA BEACH, FL (SNN-TV) – Hundreds of students at Bethune-Cookman University staged a peaceful protest yesterday.

Students at the Daytona Beach HBCU are asking the University to restart contract negotiations with NFL legend Ed Reed. The Pro Football Hall of Famer broke off negotiations to be head football coach for the University over the poor conditions of the school’s facilities. Reed later apologized but the University decided this weekend to reopen its search for a football coach.

Students protesting Monday agreed with Reed’s concerns, sharing pictures of broken doors and mold in dorm rooms on campus. So far, the administration has not responded to the students’ demands.
