ANNA MARIA, Fla. (SNN TV) – More work on an Anna Maria bridge will soon continue.
In a press release, Manatee County said work on the Manatee Avenue Bridge over Anna Maria Sound begins September 6. The bridge on State Road 64 will require periodic lane closures and periods of one-way traffic. Daily lane closures can be expected between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
This will allow crews to complete the last phase of this repair, that being the installation of additional hangers to support the pipe on the east side of the bridge. Due to safety concerns, the county said the work isn’t possible at night. It’s anticipated that the work will take two to three weeks.
Manatee County said if you want to avoid the work zone, consider using the Cortez Bridge instead.
