BRADENTON (SNN-TV) – Earlier today, 21-year old Bradenton Marauders outfielder Angel Basabe received a call-up to High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers.
Basabe was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent out Venezuela in 2017. In 74 at-bats in Low-A this season, Basabe batted .257 with 4 RBI’s on 19 hits, with an OPS of .731.
Basabe joins a Greensboro squad that’s 40-50 this season, and touts three of the top four Pirates prospects in Henry Davis, Nick Gonzales and Quinn Priester.
