MANATEE -Hundreds of people showed up for the 5th annual Bradenton River Regatta.
The event, hosted by the city of Palmetto and Bradenton featured two main stages featuring local talent.
These boats can go from zero to one hundred in four seconds. But a minor delay in the start of the races due to low tide didn’t stop Barb and Lee Chaffee visiting from Colorado from enjoying the festivities.
“Well we’ve heard all about it, we read about it. We have friends here and they told us about it, and we just thought it’d be fun, says Barb. “It’s a beautiful area and we’ve had beautiful weather, so that’s a plus.”
The iconic band, We The Kings even came back to their hometown of Bradenton taking the main stage to rock out with some of their greatest hits Saturday night.
