SARASOTA – Nearly three thousand fans attended the 2nd annual Pearls Polo and Ponies charity match in Sarasota.

Cheers for Charity hosted the event at the Sarasota Polo Club. The match raised funds for Cheers for Charity 2019 grant cycle and awards the annual grant to a local nonprofit.

Amanda Broadway and Lauren Geraldson with Cheers for Charity say this event helps bring the Sarasota and Manatee county community together.

“Cheers for Charity is a great nonprofit, they are a giving circle and what they do is give grants out to other nonprofits in the area,” said Geraldson.

“Also to support your local community it’s great when we can be part of events like these you know, the sunshine we’re outside we’re enjoying ourselves but as Lauren mentioned also giving back so it’s a great event,” said Broadway.

Past winners include Hope Family Services and the Junior League of Manatee County. A total of 19 nonprofits have received the grant. This year’s winner has not been chosen.
