SARASOTA (WSNN) – Gardens and museums are welcoming visitors again on the Suncoast.

As the states begins to slowly reopen in Phase One, the Ringling Museum and Selby Botanical Gardens announced, Friday night, they will reopen to the public.

Both the Downtown Sarasota and the Historic Spanish Point campuses plan to open on May 27th, but, with some limitations, of course.

Selby Garden’s President and CEO, Jennifer Rominiecki says safety is the most critical to them.

So, Ringling and Selby Gardens plan to limit attendance, monitor social distancing and sanitize often. They also encourage visitors to wear face masks.

After being closed for nearly two months, Rominiecki says she’s trilled to offer a place of solace to the Suncoast.

“When we had to close our doors, it was so difficult, because we really like to be a place of refuge, so we’re looking forward to being able to the respite, that I think everyone needs right now, especially in our wonderful outdoor environment,” Rominiecki said.

Rominiecki says Phase one reopening will have no tours as it will solely be an outdoor experience. Member will be able to visit on May 26th and the general public will be able to visit on May 27th.
